How to Host a Paint Night at Home With Friends

Plan a relaxed paint night at home with friends: choose one kit per person, set up the table, add snacks and music, and let everyone paint at their own pace.

A good paint night at home is less about teaching art and more about giving everyone an easy creative activity to share.

The simplest setup: one kit per person, one clear table, good light, water cups, music and food that can stay away from wet paint.

Choose one kit per guest

Paint by Numbers works well because each person can choose a different design while still doing the same activity. Nobody needs to copy a host or keep up with the fastest painter.

Give each person enough elbow room for a canvas, paints and water.

How long should a paint night last?

Do not build the evening around everyone finishing. Detailed designs take different amounts of time and people paint at different speeds. The goal can simply be to start the project together and take it home afterwards.

What should you serve?

Choose food that is easy to pick up without making hands greasy or sticky. Small plates, snacks and drinks work better than a formal meal while people are painting.
